Proposition on Opposition: Consciousness, Gravity, Reality

Everyone is familiar with the widely accepted notion that there exists an opposition in all things (2 Nephi 2:11). Defying the meaning of scriptural verities is like volunteering to walk the plank. Yet, I propose… For we approximate Truth by posing questions, not by opposing them.

Opposites

Consider some oppositional pairs all are familiar with:

Black and White

Light and Darknesses

Joy and Pain

Life and Death

True, some might be more difficult for us to experience than others and that is the only thing that taints our perception of each as “negative”. Who is to say that one is “bad” and not the other?

Black is utterly classy and slimming. Darkness is perfect for releasing fireflies. Pain is ideal for expanding one’s capacity for compassion. Death is a welcome release, an opportunity for a new beginning, a reminder of the cyclical nature of all creation and a temporary separation that helps us not to take Life for granted. Our perception of all things bad and ‘evil’ could be just that… perception.

Think of gravity and  weightlessnessI for a minute. It could be argued that both are bad. One is not conducive to flying. The other may not be as favourable for successful attempts to eat dinner or to have a mess-free experience at the loo. Gravity then is a “necessary evil'', a force of resistance that provides balance in the world and spares us from living in constant levitation. It provides an operable environment for us as humans.

Good and Evil

God or Elohim are pure Love and Consciousness, a perfect merging, a balanced At-one-ment of the two. What we know as the Adversary is the exact opposite, an absence of Love and Inability for self awareness . The universal law of Polarity accounts for this necessity. But if God and Good is a presence, then  Evil is nothing but its Absence... Just like Darknesses is an absence of Light. Aligning ourselves with One, we make less room for the other.

In the natural world we do not experience only Light or only Darkness for long. There is a constant ebb and flow between the two, the brightenning or the dimming, a spectrum and a co-mingling. Much like it is with Consciousness.

Jacob’s Ladder demonstrates such gradation in Consciousness of the different levels of humanity. There, Jehovah is at the top of the ladder and immediately below are  the seraphim, servants, Zion, Jacob/Israel believers, followed by Babylon and Perdition.

Jehovah assumes the position of perfect sacrificial Love and utmost Awareness of Self and All. Perdition becomes an example of annihilation of Consciousness and leverages Fear, creating a gravitational force strong enough to de-create.

Those on the Jacob/Israel level of humanity are unaware of their feeding into and supporting “NOT the kingdom of God”. “They know not what they do” as they reject Brighter Light, they are unaware, not because of a malevolent intent necessarily, but rather because that is “age appropriate” for their station in their progression and overall evolution.

The presence of opposition feels like a certainty to us. Instead of “Evil,” which assigns a moral value, one could call it Consciousness Gravity. Each of us has  Agency and as a result each can contribute to the overall energetic charge, negative and positive. Consciousness, like energy, is indestructible, unless perhaps if sucked into the Black Hole of Annihilation. Thus, incarnated or not, it continues to operate and add either to Love or Unlove, Weightlessness or its opposite. Anything that supports or adds to the Unconscious, Unlove and Fear strengthens the force of resistance, fortifies the total sum of the gravitational pull and energetic Inertia. And that is what we experience as opposition!

Absence of uniformity in humanity

There is an indisputable absence of uniformity among us in our consciousness evolution and progression. As human beings we are all in the same classroom of mortality, Kindergartners and High Schoolers alike…

As parents we are equally patient with both toddlers and teenagers, since we know what behaviours are age appropriate. Yet we struggle to extend the same Grace outside of family bonds, where this belonging to different “grades” is not as obvious. Levels of consciousness rarely are. So we expect all, both first graders and nots, to be taking and passing their ACTs with flying colours..

At times things can be even more complicated when those we know should be more spiritually mature and enlightened, aren’t, like our parents, older siblings or leaders. It’s tempting to feel let down, alienated… We fall prey to the illusion of due maturity  and make room for things (thoughts, feelings and perhaps even physical actions) with a negative charge. But truthfully, who can blame a kindergartner for being 5? One former kindergartener I might be related to once shared a eureka moment, proclaiming excitedly that the biggest number was not 10, but a 100!!!:)

Sitting on the same classroom pew  with the first graders, mastering sight words, can be a lonely procedure for Highschool Juniors, ready to take on AP Trigonometry. But perhaps the point of the exercise is just that… Resisting the immature sense of intellectual or moral superiority and extending Grace to All, acknowledging that at one point in our Enlightenment sojourn of the countless probations we too had to master our abcs.

Vex not

The Lord extended the often overlooked admonition for those in the telestial to not resist evil (Matthew 5:39). This Hebrew maxim is usually translated, “Do not fret because of evildoers,” or “Do not be vexed by evildoers.” Notice the emotional disengagement, a stance of neutrality in the face of lower forms of consciousness.

Perhaps the Master had a better understanding of the invisible Laws at play, the laws we have become unaware of, but according to which all ill, spoken, felt or acted upon can only “return to sender” as such. Perhaps these pieces of "universal mail" come back at us as what we sometimes call “afflictions”, loneliness, depression or other attacks of spiritual adversity, the origin of which is difficult for us to discern.

In our “getting vexed” by evil we strengthen the very thing we oppose. Unbeknownst to ourselves, we create MORE negatively charged particles that accumulate like moisture in a thundercloud, growing in density until it reaches the tipping point to explode as a vexatious rain.  What if the only evil to be resisted is primarily internal, our own? And manifestations of Absolute Evil and Malignant intent are best not opposed, but exposed, like undeveloped film of the olden days, that is rendered useless upon Light exposure…

Expectations

A lot of the times in life we truly don’t know what to expect. No matter the number of volumes the young parents read from the What to expect when you're expecting series, NONE of them have any idea what they signed up for by putting their names on the all-blue or only-pink baby gift registry. Each parenting experience is utterly different, custom-made for individual growth of all involved.

At the emergence and the birthing of the New World and Earth, we once again find ourselves in the space of not knowing exactly what to expect…

The collective expectation of a deadly disease produced by a unanimously masked up humanity, fearful, terrified, fuels the power of Unhealth and every one’s capacity to stay well, and can not but produce such a thing. It is reasonable therefore, to expect that a real or a more serious disease will emerge as a natural outcome of Cause and Effect Law.

Harbouring negative thoughts and feelings against our neighbours can not but produce conflict, be it on a personal or national scale. Selfishness creates Imbalance and scarcity that can manifest itself in shortages and lack. Control puts on the tight grip and projects into reality being controlled, manipulated or, perhaps, being subject to bondage. The prolonged violation of the Living Earth is likely to result in natural disaster. This list of things internal transmuting into external is not extensive. But all are but fulfilment of Law, not judgments of a vengeful God that does not exist…

The dichotomy and interplay of individual and collective consciousness is a real, powerful thing. A balancing act…But perhaps we have abdicated too much of our personal power and Agency of One in favour of theTotal.

Why not expect the best outcomes? However best might look like…Best for one might be taking the nearest exit. For another it might be staying in the kiln awhile for further refinement and awakening. Both terracotta and glass go through the fire, going through a completely different  process and  achieving two varying results at the hand of the demiurge...

Expectation, like comparison, can be a thief of Joy. When the bar is set unrealistically high, our expectations, especially when they evolve around others, can be ruthlessly shattered. But what happens when expectations are set too low?

Expecting strife, calamity, disease can not but manifest those things, like a book request order from a remote library branch, that may not be instantly available for check out, but does arrive, in time…Thus the old “hope for the best, expect the worst” adage, doesn’t serve us. Expectation is rooted in certainty, hope - only in possibility. The weight of the former always seems to tip the scale towards the unfavourable, like a pound of led against a feather. So why not expect Unity, Love, Collaboration, Joy, Healing?!?! The Best…

Prophecy

Our expectations of the future during end times are often rooted in prophecy or scriptural precedent. We rely on patterns and consistencies and those are valid and allow for predictability. Yet there is an imperceptible sense of victimhood in expecting the fulfilment of prophecy.  What if prophecy is not as "set in stone" as we thought? Or if our interpretation of its “sure word” has not been that sure…Certain interpretation of scripture corrected, revisited and reinterpreted is not without precedent in our day. What was once presented as True, turned out not that true after all…

What if it is the power of thought, Faith and expectation that produce all ultimate outcomes?

The purpose of earthly life is not only to provide us with experience, but an opportunity to evolve and realise our Ability, Power and capacity for Co-creation, NOT to become extinct as a race, nor to perpetuate Life as we know it in the Now. But it is also not to become trapped in prophetic “will be”s and “have to occur”s. Wouldn't  that be an ultimate violation of Agency, if all outcomes were already predetermined?

Interpretation of prophecy is contingent on the level of Consciousness of the one doing the interpreting. Thus a mind ridden with the lower vibration of fear, can only predict fearful outcomes.

What if all end times prophecy is an attempt to warn us of Cause and Effect, of possible and even probable outcome of Imbalance between Love and Unlove, Awareness and not, selfishness and Self-sacrifice, Humility and hubris? To help us prepare for the upcoming Final Exam to the best of our current ability, where the only assessment performed is for our level of Awareness and capacity for Unconditional Love

R and r

Those pursuing Truth realise rather quickly the necessity to grapple with the concept of Reality. What is real? What isn't?

Looking at the same object each perceives it a little differently. When facing a rooster, one may perceive a chicken, a cockerel or, possibly, a scrumptious KFC meal.:) Some may perceive in it a life form, a lower bit of consciousness or matter organised, the same matter that is used to create All living things, fueled by the Life force that  animates creation on every level. Thus reality, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder, and can only be subjective for us.

Perceiving reality, we also project it. The inner workings of our Heart and Mind cast onto the screen of Life our beliefs, conditioning and feelings. The quality of the picture on the screen is utterly subject to the intensity of our Light or Consciousness. Our focus determines the resolution or blurriness of images as well as the area of the screen it can cover: Some will only project a dot of a laser beam, others will cast broad images to fill the entire screen. And yes, ‘the movie’ projected can be anything, from a beautiful and inspiring motion picture to a gory horror show. And Darkness in this analogy is nothing but a necessary condition, a resistance to Light…

Both perception and projection are real for the one perceiving and projecting. And, of course, both are utterly subjective…What humanity experiences as “objective” Reality is a sum total of realities projected. R = r x n, where n is a number of individual ‘units’ of consciousness. Our reel becomes real…And if our level of Consciousness determines our reality, then there are as many realities as there are levels. No one reality is better than the other, only age appropriate…And Absolute Reality, like Truth, is only with God.

The above essay is an attempt to wrap one’s mind (if only this mind) around concepts and notions, that are deep, but that surround us daily….The intent here is to bring us a step closer to things as they might be, not as we have been conditioned to believe they are. It is an effort to once again overcome rampant duality, to embrace, instead of oppose, to resist our own Consciousness Gravity, not “evil incarnate” in our neighbour. May we favor Heart over mind and consciously project into Life the very Best!
